It was a great day of remembrance on Monday 11 September 2023 to honor Scott in a way he would be proud of. Family and friends spent the day golfing, eating and laughing in Scott's honor.
The tournament was held at Sacconnesset Golf Club in Falmouth MA. A full ticket of golfers hit the course for an 11 am shotgun start. A large number of family and friends came for the dinner portion of the day, on the patio starting at 5 pm.
Twenty-Eight Foursomes played the links in this tournament. There were multiple excellent scores, topped by the winning foursome of Mike Hoogendoorn, Ryan Sullivan, Brian Brodigan and Mike Hannon with a winning score of 65. Very impressive! Longest Drive Men was claimed by Mike Hoogendoorn, and the Longest Drive Women was taken by Christine Cutting. Closest to the Pin was shared by Chris McMillan and Joe Paratore.
During dinner and socializing, great fun was had with the "hit-the-boat" contest, which was always a favorite with Scott. After quite a few tries by numerous golfers, Derek Adamson finally took the prize with a direct hit.
Thankfully the weather was wonderful with giant puffy white clouds in the distance and sunshine all day. This was noteworthy as most of New England experienced heavy rains on this day, including historic localized flash floods in multiple locations in Massachusetts. But the powers that be were smiling down on Sacconnesset Golf Club this day. It could not have been better!
